Speaker 1:

Hey, extra Mile Club. It is great to have a few moments to just sit down and chat with you Now. Today you're not going to get the preview for our upcoming virtual fun run because I am still diligently working on it. It is going to be worth it, I promise you, and I will send it out to you the moment it's officially packaged up and ready to rock and roll. But I do hope that you join us for the Disney Summer Virtual Series.

Speaker 1:

Now, if you're not a big run Disney fan or you're not a fan of Mickey treats, that's okay, because you're still welcome to join in on the fun with us. We're going to be talking about ice cream. It's probably going to make you really, really hungry. You're going to hear anything from trivia to. Obviously, you're also going to hear the Mod Squad who's sharing the microphone with me. It is truly going to be a lot of fun and we'd love for you to join us. We're going to do what we did for the Waffle Run about a month or so ago. We're going to have a lot of fun in the group. We're going to ask you to partake in some of the games and, of course, there'll be a special playlist, all so that you can have as much fun as possible while getting in your summer running, which brings me to the next topic of conversation, summer running.

Speaker 1:

I swore it off so many years ago and, after running Berlin and having my eyes set on completing the World Marathon majors, I knew that that only left just spring races for me. And that was exciting, because training here in Florida in the winter is as close to heaven as you can get here on earth. But summer, well, my friends, it's probably another level of Dante's Inferno, and I know that I'm not the only one. I know that throughout the country there's been heat waves and there's humidity and it's tough. But I got to tell you that this particular year, as I work to train for a few goal races that I have put my mind to, I'm so excited. I'm excited about getting an opportunity to run when it's less than ideal weather conditions, because it's helping to build and reconnect that grittiness and also a great reminder that we can do hard things. So I want to remind you, if you've been sitting it out a little bit, or maybe you've been reconsidering what's next for you, take the plunge. If it's been sitting on your heart and it's calling to you don't let all of the challenges or those obstacles, or maybe even those inside out emotions of fear and anxiety get in the way of you pursuing your dreams. Which, of course, brings me to the next part of this conversation.

Speaker 1:

Friends, we have so many great events coming up. So, of course, the Run Disney Summer Virtual Series. We're going to actually be here in real life If you're welcome to come, if you're here in Central Florida on July 6th. But we're going to keep the virtual fun going all weekend long, so we can't wait to have you joining in on us with us. We also have the last of the Disney Virtual Series. It's going to be August 3rd that weekend, so we hope you join with us. We also have the last of the Disney Virtual Series. It's going to be August 3rd that weekend, so we hope you join with us as well.

Speaker 1:

Now, if you want to meet in person, I'm trying really hard to spread out some of these meetups and events, but we've got Oktoberfest in Asheville the week of September 28th, rocktoberfest in Naples, florida, october 5th. Marine Corps has a 10k, the marathon. Or of course, you're welcome to come out and join me for my first 50k. You can do the virtual for that one as well. But if you'd like to be there, irl would love to see you October 27th.

Speaker 1:

Of course, back here, our home territory, we'll be here for Run Disney, the season opener for Walt Disney World, for Wine and Dine weekend, and then quite a few of us are making our way to Savannah for Every Woman's Marathon weekend. We're going to be there pretty much from November 15th to November 17th and we'd love to have you join us. And if that doesn't sound up your alley, then come on back down to Florida if you'd like, for Space Coast Half and Marathon Meetup on December 1st. I'm not done yet, my friends. We still have more meetups. We've got OUC here in Central Florida, of course, marathon Weekend at Run Disney in January.

Speaker 1:

But I heard you loud and clear. You're hearing a lot of these Southeast. Of course we're going up to DC for Marine Corps, but we've been hearing that you guys are hoping that maybe might take it a little closer, a little bit further North. So we are very excited to officially announce that as a collective and as the league, we are going to meet up at Sham Rock in Virginia Beach in March and we would love for this to be a wonderful collection of all of you together and they have so many different paces and distances. It's a family-friendly race and it's an entire weekend of just filling your cup and connecting with your fellow collective members.

Speaker 1:

So, as a member of our Extra Mile Club, if you are able to sign up and join us there, I can't wait to see you, hug you and thank you in person.

Speaker 1:

I'll be including all these details in our group on the podcast Facebook page, and I really do want you to join in on the fun.

Speaker 1:

So if none of these weekends sound like they're feasible for you and you're potentially considering some other races, let us know.

Speaker 1:

Maybe you want to host your own race meetup in your side of town, especially for when we have the opportunity to have our celebration finish lines from all the hard work that we do solo, or when we are kind of burying and gritting through these summer months. With that said, friends, I want to thank you again for continuing to be such a wonderful source of support and inspiration, and we're coming up on two years of the podcast, and, while it's had quite a few changes, one thing that has not changed is my dedication to each and every single one of you, and one thing that I am so thankful for is that you have continued to support us along the way, so thank you. With that said, I hope that everyone has a very happy and healthy 4th of July holiday. And then be on the lookout, my friends, because as soon as I'm done with that virtual run, I will be sending it your way for you to hear it first. Talk to you soon and, of course, keep shining, keep running and keep making those strides extraordinary.
